As we were relaxing at our campsite, who should happen to ride by on her bike but our new nurse, Rachel! It was such a fun coincidence and a great reminder of how small and connected our community really is. Rachel looked like she was enjoying the beautiful weather and making the most of the weekend. So if you see Rachel in the office this week, be sure to ask her how camping was, we’re sure she has a few stories to share!

You may have seen a new smiling face around the office this past month as she’s been getting to know both our team and our wonderful patients and now we’re excited to officially introduce her! Please join us in welcoming Rachel Ozburn to our office family, and congratulating her on completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Mount Mercy University and officially becoming a Registered Nurse! Rachel has always had a passion for helping others, and many may also know her as a talented Esthetician. Her caring personality, dedication, and love for patient care make her a wonderful addition to our team.

Nurse Week is more than a recognition, it’s a reminder of the compassion, strength, and quiet dedication that happens here every single day. Our nurses are the gentle hands that bring comfort, the listening ears that offer reassurance, and the steady presence our patients trust in every moment. They go beyond charts and care plans. They remember names, calm fears, celebrate progress, and stand beside our patients through it all, with grace, kindness, and unwavering commitment. We are so grateful for the light they bring into our office and the lives they touch daily. I had the sweetest full-circle moment running into a former nurse Darlene from Family Physicians, the very same one who took care of me back when I was a much younger patient. Now, years later, I’m part of the office she once worked with and I am still a patient. Funny how life brings things back around in the most meaningful ways. 💙 Do you remember Darlene? She did come to visit Dr. Goedken, but I had to ask her for a selfie.
